Litza Rivera

Associate Director for Formation, Academics and Resources

Dr. Litza A. Rivera was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and was raised in the Gospel as the daughter of a pastor, an experience that deeply shaped her faith and sense of calling. Above all, she is a servant of Jesus Christ. Since November 2017, she has resided in Florida, where she continues to develop her ministerial and academic work. She is part of the ministerial body of the Church of God Pentecostal, International Movement and has actively served in various ministries throughout her life.

She brings more than twenty-five years of combined experience in academic leadership, ministerial formation, and educational administration in Puerto Rico and Florida. Throughout her career, she has served as Regional Director, Executive Director, Dean, and faculty member in university and theological institutions, contributing to the development, coordination, and evaluation of academic and programmatic initiatives focused on educational excellence and institutional strengthening.

She has taught in both theological and secular higher education contexts, serving in seminaries, Bible institutes, and universities. She also serves as a teaching assistant at Asbury Theological Seminary, where she participates in the formation of leaders within bilingual and multicultural environments.

She holds a Doctorate in Management and Leadership, a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary, and a second master’s degree in Public Administration with a specialization in Administrative Programming from the University of Puerto Rico. She is currently a candidate for a second Doctor of Ministry degree at Asbury Theological Seminary, with an emphasis in preaching and leadership.

In 2026, she joined the Asociación para la Educación Teológica Hispana as Associate Director of Formation, Academics and Resources. In this role, she provides strategic and operational leadership for the development, coordination, and evaluation of academic initiatives, formative programs, and educational resources that strengthen theological education in Hispanic communities.

For Dr. Rivera, theological education represents a living expression of the Christian calling, aimed at forming leaders who integrate faith, knowledge, and daily life in service to the Kingdom of God.

What are you passionate about in your role at AETH?
I am passionate about seeing how my ministerial experience and professional training converge in service to the Kingdom of God. At AETH, I have the opportunity to contribute to the development of formative initiatives, academic resources, and collaborative spaces that strengthen leaders, churches, and institutions serving our Hispanic communities. Being part of an organization committed to accessible, contextualized, and transformative theological education deeply motivates me, because I believe that the holistic formation of leaders impacts not only the Church, but also the communities where God has called us to serve.

In your free time…
I devote time to volunteer service by participating on boards and in ministries, as well as to training and mentoring leaders in their spiritual and ministerial development.

Your favorite book…
The Bible, because in it I find direction, ongoing formation, and the living voice of God guiding each stage of my life.

A person who inspires you…
Jesus is my model and my source of inspiration. I seek to walk daily in a process of transformation into His image, in accordance with the Scriptural call to be renewed in our minds and formed into the likeness of Christ (Rom. 12:2; 2 Cor. 3:18).
