Rev. Lori Tapia

The Church and Women

National Pastor for Hispanic Ministries of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), she is the first woman ever elected to this position. In addition, Pastor Lori is a church planter, author, speaker, and motivator. She serves with a passion for sharing Jesus in relevant ways, empowering others to grow in their calling and purpose, and building and sustaining strong, authentic, and faithful relationships that advance the Kingdom among us.

Worship through music is deeply rooted in her being—as a singer-songwriter and worship leader. Rev. Tapia earned her Master of Divinity from Claremont School of Theology and was honored with the Church of the Good Shepherd Preaching Award and the Disciples Seminary Foundation Award.

Pastor Lori brings over 25 years of experience in the administration and development of community, family, and social service programs. Born on the Arizona–Mexico border, she is proud of her Mexican-American heritage and has worked at the binational level to create healthy borders and develop programs that improve quality of life in areas of health, youth, and families.
